RE Invest Indonesia: Connecting RE investors with project owners
RE Invest Indonesia is a multi-stakeholder platform jointly established by Tenggara Strategics and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Indonesia with the aim of bringing together the Indonesian embassies in China, Japan and South Korea (CJK); the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry; the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM); state-owned electricity company PLN; and industry players from Indonesia, China, Japan and South Korea to invest in Indonesia’s renewable energy sector.
Consisting of China RE Invest Indonesia, Japan RE Investment and South Korea RE Invest Indonesia, the RE Invest Indonesia series has been conducted annually since its inception in 2021 in order to maintain the momentum of high interest among renewable energy investors from the CJK countries.
Over 90 speakers, ranging from ministers to renewable energy corporate executives, have joined the RE Invest Indonesia series, along with over 2,000 renewable energy players from more than 1,000 institutions. RE Invest Indonesia 2023 saw the forum making its debut in a hybrid format.
RE Invest Indonesia strives to raise discussions on the latest developments in Indonesia’s renewable energy sector. Therefore, panel discussions in each country have included topics on renewable energy policy updates, renewable energy investment opportunities, energy transition financing through the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) in Indonesia, and phasing out of coal-fired power plants. Additionally, the RE Invest Indonesia series includes a business matching event on the sidelines that is aimed at connecting renewable energy project owners in Indonesia with investors and financiers from the CJK countries.
As co-host of RE Invest Indonesia, Tenggara Strategics works to develop the content of each RE Invest Indonesia forum, identify and invite speakers, promote the forum to industry players, as well as providing and managing technical elements pre-event and during the event. In carrying out these roles, Tenggara Strategics works closely with the Indonesian Embassy in the CJK countries.
